UTTAR PRADESH : Yogi Adityanath Government to prepare a registry for Farmers
The Yogi Adityanath-led Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced the launch of a campaign to enrol lakhs of farmers under its ‘farmers registry’ programme. The registry is expected to smoothen the transfer of government benefits to famers, by preparing a robust DATA-base for the Anna DAATAs.
The farmers of Bharat, particularly the Uttar Pradesh, are set to receive a wide range of government benefits in a more convenient manner. The Chief Minister of UP, Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to initiate a farmers registry.
The Farmers Registry would comprise of the unique identity for the farmers and aims to link the farmer profile with all the agricultural schemes, which have been availed by the farmer.
Under this scheme, a unique ID will be created for farmer, thus facilitating the transfer of several government benefits, including farm loans, insurance, agricultural credit facilities and even funds under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to the bank accounts of lakhs of farmers.
Scheduled to be launched from July 1, the ‘farmers’ registry’, is a federated registry for all farmers which will be compiled by state as per guidelines laid down by the Centre.
The farmer registry is reported to comprise of the farmer’s name, his/her father’s name, land records of the agricultural plot, mobile number and Aadhar number along with the e-KYC details.
The campaign takes place as part of the latest announcements related to the Agri-Stack scheme from December last year.
Agri-stack enables farmers to access the benefits including provisioning of farmer’s verification through e- Know Your Farmer (e-KYF). This eliminates the need for farmers regarding re-submitting physical documents to different departments to avail benefit(s) under different schemes. The farmers would avail the Ease of assessing the damage to crops due to extreme weather condition. The Agri-stack also includes access to field based advisories. – (PIB)
The Uttar Pradesh Government’s Agriculture department has been instructed to conclude the registry of all farmers before September 30, 2024.
At the same time, the initiative takes the facility of availing minimum support price (MSP) to the farmers’ doorsteps. The other benefits include advice from the experts and other institutions.
Significantly, the Uttar Pradesh Government led by CM Yogi Adityanath, will also bring to use remote sensing for constituting maps for farmlands inside its territories.
The farmer registries will be executed by a team of officials from various departments including Revenue, Agriculture, Panchayati Raj, Cane Development and Horticulture Departments of the UP Government.
The sources close to PM Narendra Modi, claim that the PMO is firm on its resolve to escalate the war on corruption and ultimately, free the farmers from corruption that they have suffered at the hands of the previous political regimes.
