AMIT SHAH : UP No More a Hub of Country-made pistols, Bundelkhand building cannon balls now
UNION HOME MINISTER AMIT SHAH : Gone are the days when Uttar Pradesh produced Country-Made Pistols
Intro: Amit Shah highlighted the evolution of Bundelkhand into a Cannon Ball manufacturing hub, from once being a hot-bed of pistol production under the Double-Engine Government of PM Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath
The Bundelkhand of Uttar Pradesh once known for poverty, featured as central theme of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s address to the public seeking votes for the BJP in Lalitpur Lok Sabha Constituency.
Amit Shah brought Bundelkhand into the discourse highlighting its evolution into a Cannon Ball manufacturing hub, from once being a hot-bed of pistol production.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah reiterated that the UP’s journey towards becoming a developed state accelerated significantly under the BJP Leadership, with PM Narendra Modi in the South Block, Delhi and Yogi Adityanath as the CM of UP.
“There was a time when country-made pistols were produced in Uttar Pradesh. But PM Modi built a defence corridor in Bundelkhand, and now cannon balls are made here,” Shah said.
The BJP stalwart’s remarks come in the wake of Former Union Minister and Congress-leader Mani Shankar Aiyer’s remarks about Pakistan having Atom Bomb.
Mani Shankar Aiyer on Pakistan
The former Congress-leader, said,” “They have atom bombs. We have them too, but if a ‘madman’ decides to drop a bomb on Lahore, it won’t take 8 seconds for the radiation to reach Amritsar,” he warned. “If we respect them, they will remain peaceful. But if we snub them, what happens if a ‘madman’ comes up and decides to launch bombs [at India]?” Aiyar asked.
“Mani Shankar Aiyar has said Pakistan should be respected as it has an atom bomb and not ask for PoK (Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir) from the country. But this is Narendra Modi’s government. We are not afraid of the atom bomb. PoK belongs to India and will remain so. We will take it.”
Amit Shah further said, “if Pakistan makes any mistake”, the shells made in Bundelkhand will be used to “destroy” Paksitan.
Mani Shankar Aiyer said that these comments were taken from an old video.
The Congress Party has reportedly distanced itself from Mani Shankar Aiyer’s remarks.
Amit Shah said,” said, “This land fought against the Mughals and the British. Now Bundelkhand also has to fight against the ‘desi Angrez’ present in our country.”
The Lalitpur Constituency goes to polls today May, 20, 2024 where the BJP has fielded Anurag Sharma against former Union minister Pradeep Jain ‘Aditya’ from the Congress.

Expected Job Creation in Bundelkhand
More than 15,000 jobs are expected to be created in Karwi sub-division of Chitrakoot and another1.70 lakh individuals would receive employment with the Jhansi node getting completed.
The UP Defence Industrial Corridor is one of the two Defence Industrial Corridors being built in India with Tamil Nadu being home to the second.
