Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma set to build 500 world-class government schools, to invest 4,000 crore Rupees

The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma has pledged investment of an impressive 4,000-crore Rupees for transforming the Education infrastructure. Sarma took to X to announce the game-changer plan for building 500 world class Government-Schools.

Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media platform X to announce that Assam will build 500 state-of-art government schools. Sarma-led Government is set to invest 4,000 crore Rupees towards the game-changer plan for Assam’s Education Infrastructure.

Sarma has personally visited some of the proposed school sites located in Assam’s Changsari.

“At this juncture, I am happy to join the Hon’ble Prime Minister. It is to be noted that Changsari Higher Secondary School will be an Assamese medium school under SEBA and Changsari Model School will be an English medium school under CBSE”, he added.

Sarma led state government in Assam is set to allocate over Rs 4,000 crore for constructing of 500 state-of-the-art government schools across the state.

So far the Himanta Biswa Sarma led government of Assam has achieved various feat in the education sector.

Sarma-led Assam Government has built 118 model schools, and upgraded 224 high schools.

A record 67 KGBVs have been elevated. A record 56 CBSE Schools have been built in backward areas of Assam. The state has added 7 new government colleges along with 6 new Engineering colleges.

8 polytechnics have also been built by the Assam Government.

An impressive 8 colleges have been upgraded to universities. Additionally, a State university is also coming up in Gohpur.

A National Forensic Science University is also being built. A Yoga-and-Naturopathy Centre has also been announced with an investment of 100 Crore Rupees.

“All-round development of educational infrastructure is a key focus area of our Govt and we are investing unprecedented efforts and resources to take the education sector in Assam to a new horizon”, said Himanta Biswa Sarma in an earlier post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Experts related to the Education sector believe that initiatives of Himanta Biswa Sarma-Government of Assam to improve the quality of Education can lead all states in the Uttar-Purvi Bharat on the path to achieve excellence in quality of Education Infrastructure.
