PM Narendra Modi : Glorification of the Corrupt a serious concern

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack at those who opposed the punitive action towards major corruption networks. PM Modi hit out at the ‘Khan Market gang’ for the propagation of a false narrative to safeguard the corrupt.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reminded the people of the not-so-old-days of the Congress-led UPA Regime where the corrupt would allegedly evade punishment using their wealth and clout among the political-circles. PM Modi further said that during the days of Congress Rule, only the minor player or pawns were prosecuted.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s Bail Welcomed by the INDI Boc

In a recent development, the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal did a press conference before the Media to address the corruption allegations and articulate his views on the subsequent imprisonment.

“They want to crush us, but the Aam Aadmi Party is an idea. It will keep growing the more they try to finish us,”

“There is a pattern to the BJP’s attacks – jail all chief ministers in Opposition-ruled states and overthrow the government,”

“If the INDIA bloc wins, I would “not have to go back to jail”

The CM of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal was given bail by the Apex Court in the Delhi Liqour Scam on May 10, 2024. Kejriwal’s release was welcomed by the leaders from the INDI Bloc.

We also hope that the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, also gets due justice,” said Congress Party spokesperson Pawan Khera in a video message.

The leaders from the INDI Bloc made these statements after the release of Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP Chief.

The infamous Delhi Liqour Scam

In February 2021, the Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Health Minister Satyendra Kumar Jain led the Group of Ministers to bring reforms to the Delhi Excise Policy and gave the control over wholesale and retail of liqour to private companies.

However, in July 2022, the Chief Secretary of Delhi, Naresh Kumar flagged irregularities in the policy and the sent a report to Lieutenant Governor.

Based on LG’s recommendations, CBI probe was initiated to investigate the excise policy. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Health Minister Satyendra Jain, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh were alleged to be involved in the scam. The Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal was named “Kingpin” by the ED while filing the chargesheet.

Prior to this Kejriwal was arrested on March 21, 2024 after he allegedly skipped 9 summons from the ED.

On May 10, 2024, Kejriwal was granted bail on the grounds that he had to campaign for the Lok Sabha Elections as he helmed the Aam Aadmi Party.

In the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 the Kejriwal-led Party is contesting 20 seats. The Lok Sabha houses a total of 543 seats.

Other than the Delhi Liqour Scam there have been various other cases involving leaders form the INDI Boc parties.

The National Herald Scam and the Gandhi Family Led Congress Party

The National Herald case involves three key players — Associated Journals Ltd, Young India Ltd, and Congress.

The National Herald newspaper was founded by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1938 in Lucknow. It was established as one among the newspapers that lent voice to the Indian National Congress as Bharat fought for independence from the British.

The National Herald was published by Associated Journals Limited (AJL) until it was shut down in the year 2008. The AJL claimed to owe the Congress Party a debt of Rs 90.21 Crores whereas it owned real estate worth Rs 2000 Crores.

In 2010, Young Indian Limited was incorporated where Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi had a total of 76% shares whereas the remaining 24% shares were held by the deceased Moti Lal Vora and Oscar Fernandes.

The Young Indian Limited, got the Rs 90.21 Crore loan transferred by the AICC in its favor in consideration of Rs 50 lakh.

Later, the 99.99% shares of AJL were transferred to the YIL.

Both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are currently on bail, facing charges of cheating and forgery.

The Enforcement Directorate attached properties worth Rs.751.9 crore in the National Herald Case in November 2023.

Despite the allegations and the current status of the case, Hero’s welcome is given to Rahul Gandhi by some among the media each time he campaigns for the Congress Party in the Lok Sabha Elections of 2024, so far.

Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Bail under Land for jobs Scam welcomed by Parties

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed a chargesheet against RJD chief Lalu Prasad, younger son and deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and others in July 2023.

It was alleged that Lalu Yadav and the members from his party, RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) demanded land parcels from the aspirants for jobs while Lalu Prasad Yadav was The Railways Minister in UPA Government.

“The ED, CBI and Income Tax are now in a hyperactive mode. This will all happen till the polls as it is a ploy to divert attention,” said Manoj Jha, the RJD MP and spokesperson, after the members from the Yadav Family were chargesheeted.

NCP’s Nawab Malik Bail welcomed by the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi

The Bail For NCP’s Nawab Malik which was earlier granted by the Supreme Court was extended by six months in January 2024. The former Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik was arrested in relation with a money laundering case.

“The party welcomes Nawab Malik wholeheartedly. We eagerly await his return. He has been the party’s strong voice and it is good to know that the court has granted bail,” said Mahesh Tapase, spokesperson of Sharad Pawar led NCP.

Nawab Malik was arrested in February 2022 after investigations by the ED into Nawab’s alleged links into activities to support the dreaded criminal and the alleged mastermind behind 1993 Serial Bomb Blasts in Mumbai.
