Jyotiraditya Madhav Rao Scindia broke his own record from 2002 by-election by handing the INC’s Rao Yadvendra Singh Yadav a crushing defeat.

Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia represents the Ministry of Civil Aviation (since 2021) and the Ministry of Steel (since 2022) in the PM Narendra Modi-led Cabinet of the BJP Government. He has earlier helmed the affairs as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power and Corporate in the 2nd UPA Government (2012-14)
He has been elected as the Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from the ruling BJP (since 2020). He is a former MP in the Lok Sabha, representing the Guna constituency in Madhya Pradesh since (2002). Scindia, however, conceded defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections against the BJP’s Krishna Pal Singh Yadav.
In 2020, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and helped the BJP form government in Madhya Pradesh (2020), leading to the collapse of the Congress Government in the central Indian state.
Jyotiraditya Scindia and The House of Scindia
Jyotiraditya Rao Scindia hails from the prestigious House of Scindia, with Jivaji Rao Scindia as the last Ruler of Gwalior followed by his father Madhav Rao Scindia, who helmed the Railways Ministry (1986 – 1989) in the Rajiv Gandhi Government and the Ministry of Civil Aviation under PV Narsimha Rao Government.
GUNA LOK SABHA CONSTITUENCY
Guna Lok Sabha constituency perimeters eight Vidhan Sabha segments, namely, Shivpuri, Pichhore, Kolaras, Bamori, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Chanderi, Mungaoli. Six of these segments are represented by the BJP MLAs. The Guna Lok Sabha Constituency is home to an electorate of 18,89,551.
He won from the Guna Lok Sabha constituency with a vote-share of 52.94% in 2014.
He was seeking an election to Guna following a loss to the BJP’s Krishna Pal Singh Yadav in 2019.
He was challenged by the INC’s Rao Yadavendra Singh Yadav. Yadav hails from the Ashok Nagar district in Madhya Pradesh. Yadav is currently a District Panchayat member. Yadav joined the BJP before the MP Vidhan Sabha 2023 elections.
