Amit Shah retains the Gandhinagar Bastion for the BJP
Amit Shah records a spectacular victory from the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha 2024. Shah wins Gandhinagar for a second time. He defeats Congress’ Sonal Patel with a spectacular number of votes.
Amit Shah registered victory with a massive vote share surpassing his own record of an awe-inspiring 69.67% vote share from the Lok Sabha 2019.
The Gandhinagar Lok Sabha is home to an electorate of 20,45,149.
Amit Shah is described as the Iron Man of Naya Bharat by his supporters, particularly for playing a crucial role in the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu & Kashmir.
He holds a portfolio compirisng of Ministry of Home Affairs since 2019 and the 1st Minister of Co-operation of India since 2021. Amit Shah is credited for getting the Citizenship Ammendment Act, 2019 passed by the Parliament and its implementation. So far CAA implementation has been initiated since May 15, 2024.
He is widely appreciated among the political circles for being instrumental in the enactment of Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill 2022.
Other than the Gujarat Vidhan Sabha by-Election (1997) from Sarkhej, Amit Shah has never received less than 65% votes in any of the elections including the Gujarat Vidhan Sabha Elections till 2012 and the Lok Sabha of 2019.
Sonal Patel from the Congress Party is contesting the elections against Amit Shah. She is the All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary and the party co-incharge of Mumbai and western Maharashtra. She claims of Anti-Incumbancy in Gujarat.
